ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Whilst Dr. Baber, of Rangiora, was driving through the Cust township on Wednesday, his horse stumbled and threw the driver, Allen, out on to the road. Fortunately he escaped without much injury. On Wednesday Mr J.. Bark, of the Peaks, driving his dogcart to catch the North train, met with an upset at the foot of a steep hill, the horse haying become restive. Mrs Burk, who was with him, had decided to walk down the hill and- escaped. The vehicle was much broken. Mr Burk escaped with a. few scratches.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBASrs.) MASTERTON, December 17. The body of a man named Peter Johnston was found in the Wanguehu River this morning. He is supposed to have been accidentally drowned. DUNEDIN, December 17. George Tombe fell from a, scaffolding at a new building in connection with Albany street School, alighting on his head. He was picked up insensible and taken to the Hospital, bat ,he died early this morning. Tombe was a married man with a family of five children, and is said to have suffered from St. Vitus 1 dance.
