On Monday the monthly sale was held at the Hinds. The entry consisted of 2000 sheep and 30 head of cattle. Moat of the sheep were unsold. Fat merino ewes, 4s 6d; store crossbred ewes, eight-tooth, 7s 4d ; merino ewes, 2s 3d to 2s 9d; store crossbred lambs, 5s 7d; small orossbreds, 6s; fat cattle, £5; stores, 14s, 21s, 275, to 50a each. On Tuesday, at Tinwald, there was an entry of about 13,000 sheep, 50 head of cattle, and 140 pigs. Fat crossbred ewes, 6s to 8s; fat merino ewes, 2s 6d to 3s 6d ; fat lambs, 9s to 10s; store crossbred ewes, two, four, six and eight-tooth. 6s 2d to 8s ; forward two-tooth ewes and wethers, 9s lOd ; store crossbred lambs, 4s to 7s; small do, Is 6d to 3*; boilers, 9d to 4s. CattleFat, £4, £5 17a 6d to £6 10s ; young store cattle, 14s to 255.
