WEDNESDAY'S PRODUCE REPORT.

(BY OUR COMMERCIAL EDITOR ) A large number of farmers were in town to-day, and business wa3 fairly brisk, especially in Wheat, whioh sold'freely at our quotations. Hunter's white is not regarded so favourably just now as other varieties are, and commands bids of fully Id per bushel less, with a present probability of easing off still farther. The quality of the great bulk of the wheat on offer today was good, aud in some instanaes really prime, but some of the light lands crop showed poor quality, in a few case 9 the grain being pinched and blighted. Hunter's realised ss, Tuscau 3a Id, and Pearl up bo 3s 21 ab country stations. Oats are not much fancied at the hands of buyers at present, and were sold at la 6d and ls7d country stations to-day (Danuh and duns respectively). There is uo change in Barlsy, and medium samples are rather a drug ou the market. Peas—Very few samples were about, and the crop seems to be light. Good samples command up to 3j 61, f.0.b., Lyttelton. Some holders of Ciuff were in town, but business seemed slack, and the best bids obtainable were 42a 6J to 47a 6d, at country stations. Ryegrass is not offering plentifully j«st now, and samples of good heavy seed seem scarce. Cocksfoot—A .number of growers' were up, and some good samples were shown, but the market ia rather quiet, with a weaker tendency, and buyers and sellers find a difficulty in coming together. Current values range from 5J to 3JJ, according to colour and weight.
