MELBOURNE. March 7. Mr Wilson has determined to give Wallace a spell. Whakawatea, Wallace, and Auraria have been scratched for tbe All Aged stakes to-day, and Wallace and Ilchester for tbe Loch Plate, iv which Havoc, Hova, Chesterman, Challenger, and Auraria carry 51b and Quiver 101b penalty. Much interest is evinced in the meeting of Hova and Newhaven in the All-aged Stakes, the chances of the two-year-old being most favoured.
Mr Byron Moore, Secretary of the V.R.C., announces that the takings for the three days' racing are quite up to the average of previous years.
Quiver looks none the worse for her tremendous exertion in the Champion race.
