WANTED A NAME.
A Melbourne paper has opened ita columns to a discussion on the best name for a lady cyclist. •• Cyclute" is the most compact and appropriate. A "Mere Man" thinks so, and objects to " cyelautha" meaning'!*>ffflower on wheels," because flowers are nevor seen on wheels, and a girl on 'a bicycle does not look ilowor - like. " Cyclady," "cyclasa," " eyeless," •• cyclarina," have all been suggested. The wide popularity of cycling for women may be gauged by the fact that a tnaterfamilias in want of a cook had one sent her on a bicycle. Victoria ia a free country, &ud there is no earthly reason why a CDok should not indulge in the iuuocent amusement of wheeling ; but the inaterfamilias did not engage that advanced domestic. [Wo shall be glad to receive in this column brief contributions, both from tho " New Woman," and also from her sisters who do not lay claim to "advanced , ' ideas Contributions must not exceed sixty liner in length, and may be either original or Bfclccted.
