AUCKLAND NOTES
(press association telegram.) AUCKLAND, December 14. At Ellerslie, this morning, St. Hippo and Panoply galloped a mile and a-half and both finished well. Osouiator and The Possible did a mile aud three furlongs at their best pace. Pegasus galloped a strong rouud with Heart of Oak and Anniversary to assist him. Impulse covered two rounds at a solid pace alone. First Nelson and Dead Shot did strong work over a mile and a quarter. Three Star bolted with his boy, getting on to the course proper, and galloped over a chain. It was thought that ne hurt himself a bit, as he did not work.
Marino, Couranto, Minerva and Jack, in charge of T. Clarke, and Artilleur, Mona and Goodwood, in charge of G. MurrayAynsley, left Riccarton overland for Reefton on Saturday morning. Skirmisher was sore after work oc Saturday morning. Silver Spec broke a blood vessel while being exercised at Riccarton yesterday morning.
