WAIMAKARIRI HARBOUR BOARD.

The monthly meeting was held at Koiapoi Municipal Chambers on Monday evening. Present — Messrs Horrell (Chairman), Mathews, Lissaman, Hiatt, Doubleday, ajnd Hopkins. Leave was granted to Messrs Parnham and Wright. Letters were read from the Minister of Marine j notifying the appointment of Messrs Hiati and Double* day as members. From Mr P. Burberry, stating that he had transferred his premises leased from the* Board to Mr M. Temple ton. ■, It was decided, on the motion of Mr Mathews, thao three additional bays be added at the Milling and Produce Company's breastwork. The Signalman's report was adopted. There was no alteration in the course or depth; the bar had moved northwards, bearing inwards W. by S. On July 14th Mr Sinus's boat, going out, sounded 7ft at three-quarters neap tides. There had-been detention to vessel* by sea and gales. The tonnage inwards WW 213, outwards 218 tons. The Finance Com* mittee reported receipts £28 14s lOd, balance in bank £103 4s 7d. Account* amounting to £51 14s 9d were passed fw payment. On the application of Lieutenant Simpson, of the Rifle Volunteers, the loan of the Board's signal flags wa» granted for decorations for a social. Ml Doubleday moved—" That the Board inspect and report on the river below Aakheaton." He was glad to see.so much produce leaving the river this season, turf desired that the owners of vessels bt assured the Board was anxious to assist in keeping the river navigable. The motion was seconded and carried. After some general business was transacted, the Board adjourned. .-
