THE MASTERTON MURDER.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS.) MASTERTON, June 8. Som.rville was before the Court to-day charged with the murder of Herbert. No new evidence was adduced. The accused waa committed for trial. The prisoner throughout maintained an indifferent aspect, keenly watching the evidence, especially that of McKutcheon*, who had been talking to Herbert when the fatal shot was fired WELLINGTON, June 9. The man Somervilie, the Masterton murderer, was brought down by last night's train, and lodged in the Terrace Gaol, where he is watched day and night. He appeared to be quite calm and reserved. It is said that he complained of the treatment he was subjected to in Masterton after his arrest, and that he was handcuffed all the time with his hands "behind him.
