Press Association— By Telegraph—Copyright. London, June 7. Silver is quoted at 2s 6fd per oz. June 9. Sir W. B. Perceval, Agent-General for New Zealand, has asked the Board of Agriculture to permit New Zealand vessels to touch at coaling ports without the Board insisting on the immediate slaughter of the live stock on their arrival in England. In reply the President of the Board stated they would require proof that New Zealand was free of disease. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received tho following London cable message, dated 7th June:— Frozen Meat—Mutton market has an upward tendency. Canterbury and Wellington mutton is worth 3 _-d to 8&d per lb respectively. (Last quotations were 3£d and 2Jd per lb respectively.) Lamb market has an upward tendency. Prime New Zealand lambs are worth per carcase s£d per lb. (Last quotation was od per lb.)
