The Premier has arranged to postpone the date for bringing the New Zealand and South Australian reciprocal treaty into operation until August, Tin's -will allow of Mr Ward's return to Ncav Zealand. A SUCCESSFUL LOAN. The now local loan of _CSII,OOO at 8_ per cent., issued at par, has been floated with _rr_at success. The amount tendered for was £719,000. Fifty-seven tenders were received for the loan, besides six which Avere too late. The largest was from the Adelaide Savings Bank, covering the frdl amount, and it only receives A'W.OOO. All the applications will be allotted in full up to the first twenty thousand, beyond that they will get one Quarter.
