FAREWELL SOCIAL.
. There was a large attendance at the social gathering held in the Mission Hall, Sydenham, last evening, when the congregation of St. Saviour's Church met to say farewell to the Misses Wilson, of the Grove, who are about co visit England. The hall was decorated with flowers and evergreens in a manner which reflected the highest credit upon the young ladies who carried out this duty. The furniture for the stage was kindly lent by Mr H. Fuhrmann, and Mr A. J. White supplied curtains for draping the walls. During the first part of the proceedings vocal and instrumental music was given by Misses Hirtzell, Hughes, Partridge and Batchelor, Mr Halley and Master Vincent, and refreshments were handed round by the ladies. The Rev. E. A. Scott then presented the Misses Wilson with an illuminated address, which expressed the appreciation of the congregation at the untiring labours bestowed oy the Misses Wilson during many years past for the good of the church and parish. In every work connected with the welfare of the church, Mrs Wilson and her daughters had proved willing, cheorful, and self-denying helpers, and the congregation gratefully acknowledged that through [their efforts they bad been enabled in a great measure to overcome many difficulties. A safe and pleasant voyage was wished them, and the hope was expressed that God in his good providence and time would bring them back again. The address was signed by the Rev. E. A. Scott, vicar, and Messrs L. Packer and T. M. Gee, churchwardens. It was bound in morocco, and was very tastefully illuminated by Mr E. W. Stowe. His Lordship the Bishop also gave an address, and Mr H. B, Kirk responded on behalf of the Misses WiUoD. The proceedings were marked w>r.b great cordiality throughout.
