The ordinary monthly meeting of this Board was held on the 4th inst., PresentMr S. Bailey (Chairman), and Messrs Carr, Carpenter and J. Taylor. Mr W. B.iloy tendered an apology for non-attendance owing to harvestiuq. Correspondence Was read—From the Commissioner of Taxes, stating that a voucher for £63 13s 10J, 75 per cent, of subsidy 1894-5, had been forwarded to the Treasury.. From the Selwyn County Council, Covoring/cheques°£s 19s 4d and £11 14s 81, refund of amounts expended by the Board in the purchase of small birds' heads. From the SurveyorGeneral as to tho purposes for which one acre of Reserve 1162 is requited; in order that a proclamation may issue. The Clerk was directed to rep'y that the land is for a gravel pit. From the Commissioner of Lands, re the proposed Fair Rent Bill, and asking for information and suggestions. It was moved—•• That the papers lie on the table." The monthly report was considered. The Clerk was instructed.to communicate with the Railway Re-i{lent:Engineer re the proposal to obtain a proper .title to land at Tcmplelon which stands gazetted as a rail way approach, but which is to all intents and purposes a public road, and has for many years been used as such. Accounts for £49 2s Id were passad.
