The adjourned meeting of the Eyreton Board was beld on January 30th. Present— Mr Hopkins (Chairman) and Messrs Chap* man, Giles and Pashby. letters we»-e read from Mr E. R. Deacon, solicitor, claiming £10 damages for injuries received by Mr R. H. Mathers through his horse breaking a plank iv a bridge on the North road. From Messrs Jackson and McGregor for extension of time for completing their contract foe shingling. Granted. From the Commissioner of Crown Lauds as regards the proposed Fair Rent Bill. It was resolved to advertise in the daily papers that tho bridges in the Eyreton Road Board district are not safe for loads exceeding four tons. Ib was resolved that the daily Prbss should bo the official paper of this Board for the current year. The registration fees for dogs were fixed as follows for 1895:— Sheep and cattle dogs kept for herding aud driving sheep or cattle 2s 6d, all other dogs 10.<. Mr F.vans' proposed, and Mr Giles seconded, "T.iat the resolution appointing a valuor,passed on August sth, be rescinded." Cirried. Mr Evans proposed, and Mr Giles seconded, " That Mr Robert 'M. .Wright.be appointed valuer of the Eyreton Road Board district, iv accordance with the Rating Act, 1894;" Carried. The surveyor was grauted a week's holiday lin February. The tender of William Anderson for dog collars : 26in by ljin, 7d each ; 21in by lin, 6£d each, was accepted. Accounts amounting to £170 15s 9d were passed.
