WEDNESDAY. JANUARY 23. Tho Wellington Trotting Club'« Summer Meeting was attended by about 700 people and the day proved moat favourable. The management was good. Some interesting trotting was witnessed, and fair dividends were paid. The visiting contingent had bid luck. Rose and Maud wpre nob good enough. Black Oats each time jibbed ac the post, and Lady Jane, who looked like winning her race, was put out by the bursting of one of the pneumatic tyres. The ex-Canterbury horses, Billy Buttons and Invictus, each secured two races. The sum of £2097 passed through the machines. The limit horses each broke at the very start, and Kuaudallah and Beware were soon upon them. The latter waiting on Khandultab won by a length, the others pulling up. Time, Gmin 25.cc.
