THE URIWERA GOLD REEFS.
Tho Taurauga correspondent of the New Zealand Herald writes :—'• There are numerous reports about the richness of these mysterionß Ui-iwera gold reefs, but the most authoutic of the lot is that tho late Mr Troutbeck, of Galatea, got out three separate parcels and had them tested, tbe assays going from 6£oz to Boz to the ton. It is believed that the Natives will even now not ductoso the richest parts of the reefs, but Messrs Gordon and Machay'a report will bo eagerly locked forward to as suthorita tivrly deciding whether the country is ready gold bearing, and as to its comparative richness."
