FIJI v SOUTHLAND.

INVERCARGILL, February 5.
The cricket match, Fiji v Southland, commenced this afternoon in very fine weather. About 300 spectators were present. The wicket was dry, hard and bumpy, the football ground not having been used for cricket before. The Southlanders made a poor show at the wickets, also in the field. The fielding of the visitors was good. The local men are 60 runs to the bad. The match will be completed to-morrow. The following are the day's scores :— SOUTHLAND.
