THE FOURTH TEST MATCH.
LONDON, February 5. The Chronicle believes that Stoddart's eleven did everything possible against the remarkable bowling of the Australians. The Telegraph considers the miserable display of the English eleven has not a single redeeming feature. Tbe Standard remarks that cricket is at an unusually high level in Australia this season, and that the colonists are entitled to tbe warmest congratulations on their decisive victory. The Daily News declares that Stoddart's laurels are slipping from his grasp, and urges that desperate efforts should be made to retrieve them.
