AUCKLAND, February 6. Ab the annual meeting of Sharland's Drug Company, the directors regret to report a lose, although the volume of trade secured was satisfactory. This loss was in some part attributable to a certain proportion of losses not having been previously provided for. A striking instance of this is afforded in the heavy per centage of bad debts,, amounting to £2000. A considerable loss (£566) had been caused by the forfeiture to the Crown (on account of non-payment of rent and failure to comply with clauses of • the Mining Act) of the - Matata sulphur field. A thorough change had been mado in working the business, and sweeping reductions in expenses had been effected, over £2000 per annum being saved in salaries alone. There was a'iosa of £502 on the year's transactions. The directors appointed were Messrs' Charles Sharland, 0. C Sellgreen, J no. H. Owen, and Ellis. The charge of perjury against James Grainger, one of the Crown witnesses in the Bowden assault case, was. dismissed. '
