CANTERBURY INDUSTRIES.
Oar Wellington correspondent reports that before the formal proceedings of the preliminary . meeting of the Tariff Com* Ousaion commenced on Monday, attention was directed to the series of articles upon the local industries of Canterbury that have recently appeared in these columns. He learned that there was a consensus of opinion among the Commissioners present that the articles represented much valuable work and important information, that would be of great use to the Commission. The Secretary was directed to procure copies of the articles for record.
