POSTAL CONFERENCE.
Press Association—By Telegruph—Copyright. Hobabt, February 4. Before the Conference began it was understood that the Press rates to New Zealand would be considerably increased, but when the question was discussed Mr Ward absolutely opposed the alteration, and his wish was deferred to. The Hon. Mr Duffy, PostmasterGeneral of Victoria, sails for New Zealand on Friday, and will probably be accompanied by the Hon. Mr Turner, the Premier. Negotiations were opened between Mr Ward and Mr Grayson, Huddart's representative, respecting the Vancouver service, and will be continued in London, where Mr Ward will meet Mr Huddart and the Dominion Government representative. The Postal Conference did not sit to-day.
