The city received three distinct) shocks, the sensation being similar to a very sharp shock of earthquake. The death roll in connection with the accident is very large, seventy persons being killed iusfcahtly and one hundred severely injured. ; January 17. Thirty-two tons of gunpowder exploded at Biitte, and 150 persons were badly injured, in addition to 100 killed. The explosion is supposed to be the work of an incendiary.
