WEST AUSTRALIAN TELEGRAPH SERVICE.
Press Association— By Telegraph—Copyright Melbourne, January 17. The Argus says so far as the European business is concerned the West Australian telegraph service is a delusion and a snare. While we depended only on the Fort Darwin line the liability to interruption was always taken into account, but when tbe Eastern Extension Company laid a cable to Roebuck Bay communication was thought to be absolutely safeguarded against severance. The Argus suggests that the Postal Conference should take the matter in hand and either coerce or cajole the Postmaster to bring his department up to date.
