Aequich, the Home Seoretary, addressing a Trades Uuion, emphatically dissented from the Socialise motion carried at the .Norwich. Congress, and denied tuab its terms represented the opinion of a majority of the workers. The proposal, he declared, was outside of reasonable discussion. Speaking at the Sight Hon. A. J. Balfour said the Unionists favoured social legislation, though they would never encourage the creation of an impossible Utopia.
