OLD AGE PENSIONS.

TO TAB EDITOB 0? THE . PRESS. Sir, —I care not what colour of politicians occupy our Government Benches, but I da care earnestly about the passage of a pension scheme for our impoverished aged, and if this present Miuistry is too pusillanimous .to inaugurate such* a, measure: ia our next Session I shall rejoice exceedingly in their! being ejected from office, and pthers of more sincerity, of more morality and of more principle and more, humanity and more genuine ability, returned in their places. It is my impression that our present Premier has" already arranged to occuny the position of Agent-General on the occurrence of a foreboded event, and as his prescience is intentional, so also niine may be * regarding a pension scheme being passed next session. Well, after all, it will only be the Bank of New Zealand and its managers and shareholders who will have any occasion to remember his Ministry with any tender emotion, for lam certain the nine or ten thousand old people in impoverished circumstances whom up to this time he has most inhumanly neglected wiil entertain for him and his regime only sentiments of cold repulsion instead of emotions of gratitude.— ; Yours, &c, ' I Ready fob Revolt. j 200 Manchester street north, ' ' January 16th, 1895.
