SEVERE GAZE AT KAIKOURA.

(PRESS ASSOC! ATI OS TELEGRAM.) KAIKOURA, November 29.

A severe gale. was experienced in this locality for some hours on Tuesday. Its force was apparently greater north of Kaikoura; particularly towards Kekerangn. In an exceedingly heavy gust a station building at the Shades, in which Mr Frank Gi iffiths, the well-known cricketer and tennis player, had taken refuge, was overturned, and he was placed in a dangerous and awkward • predicament. After some difficulty Mr M. Lewie, with the assistance, of others who were at hand, succeeded in extricating his friend from his-perilous position. Fortunately he had not sustained any injury.
