An ordinary meeting of the Board was held oa Thursday, 4th Ootober. All the members were present. It was, resolved-— " That the Chairman be authorised to make arrangements for the office being kept open until the appointment of a clerk ; also that the sympathy of the member* of the Board be conveyed by letter to Sin Dβ Troy in her bereavement." The" Clerk was desired to apply for Jhe same. It was resolved that Applications be invited for the position of Clerk and Surveyor to the Board; also, that the Chairman be Treasurer until the appointment of a Clerk ; also, that the Board adopt the provisions of the Rating Act, 1882 ; also, that free use of the Road Board dwelling-house for two months, and an allowance of three months'salary be granted to the widow of tne late Clerk and Surveyor. Accounts to the amount of £67 33 10d were passed for payment.
