ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

Mr Howes and his daughter met with a rather bad accident as they were driving in a trap at Ashburion yesterday. The horse began kicking, and both occupanta were thrown out of the trap, sustaining a severe shaking and some nasty braises. A youth, named Albert Hunter, a newspaper runner, bad his leg broken at Sydenham yesterday, through Ilia horse stumbling and falling with him. He was removed to the Christchurch Hospital and the injury was attended to.

On Sunday Dr. H. Compton-Parsons, of Kai&poi, while driving to attend a patient on the Flaxcon road, met with an accident by his pony slipping on the Skew bridge plonking at'FJaxton. The decking was vet with the heavy rain, and the doctor was thrown out of a light daisy cart with great violence. In his efforts to hold the pony from bolting Dr. Parsons was dragged on the bridge and bis nose and face were severely scratched.
