NEW BRIGHTON.

A meeting of ratepayers, held at New Brighton on Thursday night, was convened by the Avon Road Board, to consider the question of forming the district into a borough or appointing a Domain Board. Mr C. Bukokss, Chairman of the Avon Road Board presided, and there was a good attendance. The Chairman explained that the object) of the meeting, was to call upon the Road Board to take steps to have reserve 1616 vested in a Domain Board or trueteoß, or in the Avon Road Board, until euch time as the district might be formed into a borough. I Mr Mclntyre explained that the steps proposed were in order to get the ground ready for recreation purposes. It was resolved to elect a Domain Boaiff, of five members, to hold office until the district was formed into a borough.
