FIRE BRIGADES' DEMONSTRATION.

The Fire Brigade competition ended today with the following events :— Hoss, Htdrant and Union Competition, for five men, Dunedin Brigade, £15, 42 2-sth sec ... 1 Napier Brigade, £10, 46 l-stb sec ... 2 Spit Brigade, £7 10s, 46 2-sth sec ... 3 Roslyn Brigade, £4, 46 3 sth sec ... 4 Other competitors were:—Dunedin Railway. 46 3-sth sec, Palmerston North 48 3-sth sec, South Duaedi-. 37 l-sth see, Oamaru disqualified, Christchurch 52 2-sth sec, Christchurch Railway 49 l-sth see, Wangauui 48 2-sth sec, Hastings 55 2-sthsec, fort Chalmers 60 3-sth sec, Ashburton 49 3-sth sec, Timaru 48 3-sth sec, Gisborne 49sec, Gore 48sec. Consolation Hosb, Htdeakt, a2*d Union Competition, for five men. Open to air teams who have nob won £10 in any five men team events. Palmerston North Brigade, £10, 37 l-sth aec ... -•- ... ... 1 Wanganui Brigade, £7 10s, 39sec ... 2 Gore Brigade, £5, 41sec ... ... 5 Christchurch Railway Brigade, £2 10s, 42 2-sth sec ... ... ... 4 Other competitors were:— Oamaru 67 2-sth sec, Roslyn 42 4-sth sec, Dunedin South 44sec, Dunediu Railway 47 l-sth sec, Spit disqualified. Napier won the shield presented by Messrs Shand, Mason and Go. for the highest aggregate with 17 points, Danedin City was second with 13 points, and Christchnrch third with 11 points. Tho mouey prizes won by the various brigades totalled as follows :—Dunedin £60, Christchurch £58, Timaru £44, Napier £39, Gisborne £28. Ashburton £22, Palmerston £17, Gore £14 10s, Wanganui £12 10s, Hawera j£Ll. Rangiora £10, Port Chalmers £10, Spit £9 10s, Hastings £7, Roalyn £6, Dunedin Railway £4, Grey town North £4, Masterton (M.) £3, Christchurch Railway £2 10s, New Plymouth £2, Masterton £2.
