The Premier is opposed to a penny ocean postage rate, and thinks 2£d reasonable euough. The proposed reduction will only increase the subsidies already paid by the colonies. A GOLD RUSH. Sydnet, March 9. An extensive rush has set in at -Wyalong. The Warden reports thab he believes it will prove a rich permanent field. A thousand men are already on the ground. THE COOLGARDIE GOLDFIELDS. Perth, March 9. At the scene of tbe Kuruarpi rush, near Coolgardie, the ground is rich bat patchy. Water is extremely scarce on the field and is selling at 5s per gallon. TASMANIAN POLITICS. Hobart, March 9. The no-confidence debate is still proceeding. An attempt has been made to secure support for the Ministry by offering a concession to land-owners by fixing the land tax at a halfpenny up to £500, and three farthings beyond that amount.
