In the Senate to-day Mr Rolleston moved a resolution to the effect that the previous resolution simply intended to affirm the general principle of maintenance, which precluded the entering on an investigation id to she Aldis matter, at the same time the Senate express an opinion that the allegations are grave, aed that in the interests of University education an investigation should take place by a visitor. The motion was opposed at length by Sir M. O'Rorke, and negatived. The motion of Dr. Grace was carried by twelve to eight.
