SWIMMING.

The fourth annual races to be held in connection with the Eaut Curistchurch Amateur Swimming Club will take place at the Club's batha, Gloucester street, on Saturday afternoon. A good programme consisting of eight events will be presented, including a 52 Yards Inter-Club Handicap, and' a 150 Yards Handicap, for which entries have been received from the .Christchnrch, Richmond, Sydenham, St. Albaus, and Ashburton Clubs. A good afternoon's sport was held at the Ashburton swimminp baths on Wednesday. The borough school prizes were swum for, and many of the little lads competing showed great proficiency in taking clean headers, long dives and in strong, vigorous swimming. At tbe conclusion of the school sports the Swimming Club got off several of their Club events.
