ENTERTAINMENTS AND SOCIAL GATHERINGS.
On Thursday afternoon a sale of work, arranged for by the teachers and scholars of the Kaiapoi Wesleyan Sunday School, wa3 held in the schoolroom, Fuller street. Dur-. ing the time the sale was open it was very well patronised. The respective depart* ments.included a stall for sale of fancy aud miscellaneous articles, flower stall, children's tree and refreshment room. The needlework and goods stall was managed by Misses Edmonds, Etgle and Kent, the refreshment room by Misses Johnston (2), Blackweil, Moore, Watson, Hayman, Evans and Tourell; flower stall by Misses Wilson, Fawcelt, Dance and Johnston, and the tree by Misses Baker, Brightling, Keetley, Hayman, F*wcett, aud Bennett. In the evening there were one or two amusing side shows and a shooting gallery. The sale was well patronised.
