Patrick's College. Mr Murray, the Victorian mining expert, and Mr Gordon, Inspector of Miuea, arrived this morning from Westport, having inspected the Deep Levels at Reeftou. They expect to leave for the Thames on Tuesday. The time at Mr Murray's disposal will not admit of a visit being paid to any other fields in the colony. He will furnish his report to, the Government before leaving New Zealand.

List night Mr Collie, landlord of the Criterion Hotel, was stabbed in two places by a man named Duncan Stewart, whom he was ejecting from the house for using bad language. The wouuds bled freely but are not dangerous. Stewart, who comep from the country* has been in the lunatic asylum.
