CEICKET.
The Junior' Cup match between the United'and Midland Seconds was continued at Lancaster Park on Tuesday and brought to a conclusion last night, when the United were returned winners, after an interesting finish, by three wickets. At the start of the former day's play the scores stood—Midland 169 and 140, United 149 and 11 for ono wicket. R. D. Harman and E. Kitto, the not outs for the latter, increased the score to 33, when Harman was bowled for 18. R. Kitto failed to score, but Mendelson and E. Kitto increased the total to 96 before the former was dismissed for a well-played 31. Neither Wilson nor Hale stayed long, but Ross made 11, and at the fall of his wicket at 129, play ceased for the day. Last night E. Kitto and Gardner made the remaining runs without further disaster, the former carrying out his bat for 71, while Gardner took out hia bat for 15. Barry bowled well for the Midland, whose fielding was hardly up to the mark.
