CASH AMATEUR BICYCLE CLUB.
The first annual meeting of the Cash Amateur Bicycle Club was held last night in the rooms, Morten's Buildings. There was a large attendance of members, and Mr Chris. Wilson was in the chair. Messrs F. M. Drewitt, A. H. Noall, and S. Davis were elected members. The Committee's report stated that the Club was to be congratulated on the success attained in such a short period, also for the manner in which it had assisted in introducing the cash prize system elsewhere. It stated that the active membership was ninetynine and considered this most satisfactory. The first race meeting of the Club was held on December 16th and 17th, 1892, at which a team of five Australian men competed and which produced some of the finest racing ever seen in Christchurch. Reference was also made to tlje records put up by Messrs J. Boyd and J. Bate' both on the track and on the road. The thanks of the Club are tendered to the following gentlemen for donations, viz. : —Messrs C. R. Wilson, Horace Thompson, R. G. Warnes, J. McNamara, C. Louisson, F. Fuchs, and the Lancaster Park Company.
The election of officers resulted as follows: —Captain, Mr C. R. Wilson (re-elected); Deputy-Captain, Mr W. G. Williams; Hon. Treasurer, Mr F. T. Pannell (re-elected); Hon. Sec, MrW. E. Thompson; Auditors, Messrs C. H. Cotton and H. L. Wilson ; Committee, Messrs R. L. Adams, J. B. Clarkson, H. Thompson, G. H. Forbes, W. J. Cookson.
After transacting a good- deal of minor business, the meeting adjourned for a.fortnight, when notice of motion for the alteration of the name of the Club will be considered together with the rules.
