The President delivered a very able and interesting address, reviewing what had been done." He stated that the present number of financial members was 985, aud the total funds of the district (not including the £1359 18s owing by the Graud Lodge of Victoria) amounted to £10,092 9s 9d. The Lodge of Instruction inaugurated by his predecessor was still in a very flourishing condition, and it had been a great help to all the members. He would draw attention to the utility of establishing Juvenile Lodges, tos they made good recruiting grounds for the Adult Lodges, and educated young people to become thrifty and selfreliant. They had only one Juvenile Lodge connected with the district at present. The annual gala had just started, and he would earnestly ask members to give it their hearty support. He would like to see the District Grand Lodge take it up on the same lines as the Victorian Gala. They would be asked to consider the advisability or otherwise of applying foi permission to extend their jurisdiction, as there has been several applications from Lodges to join their district. The report was adopted, and was ordered to be printed in the half-yearly report. The Auditor's report and Secretary's balance sheet was next read, and also that of the Board of Management. Alteration to law 143 was adopted. Additions to laws 65 and 67 as proposed were thrown out, as was also the motion re graduated scale of contributions.
