- The monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Wednesday, July sth. Present —Messrs Handisides (chairman), J. W. Rogers and J. Hocking. It was moved by Mr Handisides, seconded by Mr Rogers—' " That in accordance with a motion passed at the last meeting, that a rate of one halfpenny in the £ be now made and levied on all rateable property in the district, also a drainage rate of five-eighths of a penny in the £ on rural area, aud three-fourths of a peuny in the £ on sewage area, and a Waimakariri rate of three sixty-fourths of a penny in the £.° Correspondence was read. From Mr Scott, re trees overhanging path Colombo "road. The»Clerk to reply suiting that the , part referred to is in the Heathcote - district. From Mr Johnston, stating that hia present fence is 18m or 2ft inside the correct boundary. To be ✓informed that if he encroaches on the present path it Will be at his own risk, aud that he must not interfere wi£h present survey pegs. From City Council, statement of receipts and expenditure. Received. From Hospital and Charitable Aid. Received. From Sydenham Borough Council, re lamp at corner of Mil ion and Strickland streets. The Clerk" to reply that if they will also ere*ct' a lamp in Crescent road, opposite Mr Brown's r the Board will pay half cost of the two." Moved that Mr Hore be cautioned respecting cattle wandering on footpaihs ; Mr Jennings be cautioned about nuisance in front of his cottage. Accounts amounting to £19 6s lOd, as per pay-sheet, were passed for paymeut. It was resolved that the first Thursday in the month bo appointed as meeting night. The meeting then closed.
