The monthly meeting of this Board was held on Tuesday, June 27th. Present—All the members. Correspondence was read :— From Mr James Wilson relative to repairs on the Tramway road leading to reserve 311. Resolved—That further repairs be done at a favourable time providing that Mr Wilson contributes one-third of the cost. From Mr Henry Kimber, drawing the Board's attention to the state of Collins 1 drain, and complaining of the water from same flooding his land. Resolved—That the drain be cleaned. From the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, - forwarding list of recipients of relief to the Ist of June, From Lincoln School Committee, asking that the footpath opposite the school grounds be repaired. The Clerk to attend to the matter. From W. Bartram and Co,, asking the Board to make a footpath over the West side of Roberts, street, Lincoln, from Gerald street to the railway. Owing to its situation, the Board did not think it would be any improvement to make the footpath where asked. From Tai Tapn Road Board, forwarding accounts for ball cost of painting bridges over the Halswell river. Deferred for further partionlars. From Selwyn County Council, Asking to be furnished with alterations to

the valuation roll. The Clerk reported having sent the necessary information. Stating that the Council would give a bonus of fil for every £2 spent by the Board, up to £10, for the destruction of small birds during the months of June, July, August, and September. From the Commissioner of Crown Lands, in reply to correspondence re gorse on roads abutting Reserve No. 1238. Application was received from Messrs Jones, Hirgreaves, Downing, Brake, and Boyle for alterations in the rate roll, which were granted. A petition was received from Messrs Brake, Parish. Slav, and Goodrick, praying for the road from Goodrick's road to the lagoon to be opened np; also that the drains be deepened and a culvert put across Goodrick's road to connect with it. Resolvod—That the Board, do not see its way to do the work asked for. Mr H. Boyle interviewed the Board with reference to a quantity of water being brought on to Reserve No. 2653, which-was formerly conveyed to a public drain maintained by the Board. Resolved—That the Clerk and two members meet and inspect the place in question. Mr Quayle gave notice of motion to move at the next meeting that a general rate of £d in the £ be levied ou all rateable properties in the district; also, in compliance with an order from the Waimakariri River Board, to levy a rate of three sixty-fourths of a penny in the £ on all properties in the boundaries of class 2 in the above district for the period commencing Ist April, 1893, ending 31st March, 1894. The balance «heet not beiug returned from Wellington in time for the adjourned annual meeting of ratepayers to be held as arranged, it was decided that the meeting be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25th. The Over- ! seer's report was read and considered, and several necessary works were ordered to be done. After passing accounts amounting to £99 19s 3d the Board adjourned.
