! (PRESS ASSOCIATION TSXESBAU.) WELLINGTON, July 13. The vital statistics for the principal towns of the colony for the month of June, 1893, show the total number of births and deaths, and the proportion of deaths to 1000 of the population, to have been as follows :—

The deaths occurring at hospitals of persons not residents of the borough wherein the hospital is situated are allotted in each case to the borough where the disease was contracted, and not to that in which death actually took place. The total births in the above boroughs amounted to 435, against 428 in May, an increase of 7. Ihe deaths in Jnne were 251, an increase of 99 on the number in May. Of the total deaths males contributed 151, females 100; 110 children under five years of age died, being 43.82 per cent, of the whole number, and 5? of these were under one year of age.
