During an all night sitting of she Cortes a lighted bomb was found in the vicinity of the Chamber.

A furious debate, lasting fifty-four hours, took plaae iv the Cortes on the Bill introduced by the Government to postpone the municipal eleotions. The Republican party obstructed the passage of the measure by every means in their power, but eventually the Goverumenb secured a victory by carrying the Bill while their opponents were conferring in the lobbies. As a protest against the tactics resorted to by the Government the Republican party left the Cortes in a body. The incident is creating great excitement in Madrid.
