I___OA_iiY on Pbemisbs.—A youngman| who gave his name as Alfred Blythe, and ia known under the alias of Charles Stewart Seager, was brought up at the R.M. on Saturday, before Sir Beetham, &_«.» R. Westenra and Captain Detghtou, J. P. *> on a charge of being illegally on tha premises of the City Hotel oa Friday night. He pleaded ««Guilty," adding thai he did not know how he came, to be in the room, as he had been drunk ia. the evening. Sergeant-Major Mason had little to add to the particulars given above. He said that on retiring Mr McNamara took with him a cash-box containing £80 which he placed on a chair. He locked the door, so that accused could not have entered afterwards, Mr McNamara, in answer to the Bench, said the accused was not drunk, as was shown by the exceedingly s;ood time he made when he bolted; nobody in tbe hotel, knew him, or had seen him there during the, day. Mr Beetham said the records showed that the prisoner had been convicted of, forgery and of larceny from a dwelling, for. which he had served a term of a year for each offence.
