The New Zealand Farmers' Co-or_-ratiye Association of Canterbcrv, Limited, report for the week ending Friday, May 12tb, 1893 :— Wheat—The slightly improved feeling cabled from Home has imparted additional firmuess to our market, and any parcels offering are readily taken at our quotations. We quote prime Tuscan at 2s 9d to 2a lOd ; Velvet and Hunter's 2s Bd, seconds 2s to 2s 2d, f.o.b. Oats—The market for feeding sorta continues weak, but prime milling are in good request for Home shipments, and values are firmer. Milling Canadians, Is lid to 2s; short feed, Is 9i to Is lOd; Duns and Danish, Is B<l. Barley—No alteration in prices, and but little offering. Beans—The quantity offering for immediate delivery is light, and this has caused prices to recover to 3s, f.o.b. Peas—Blue Prussians continue firm at 3s 21 to 3s 3d, f.o.b.

Potatoes—Despite the weakness in Australian values, our market presents a firm front, and buyers are operating at quotations. May delivery, 46s to 47s 6d ; June, 47s 6d to 50s. Butter—Prime fresh, 8d to 9d ; salt, 7d. Eggs, Is 6tL Ctieese—Medium, 4£d ; loaf, sd. Bacon and hams scarce at Bd. Beeswax, 8d to lOd. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, reports on the wool, grain, and produce markets for the week ending 13th May, 1893 :— Wool—There is nothing of interest to report regarding this staple. We notice by Australian exchanges that at the Sydney wool sales some Queensland new clips have already been disposed of this season. Thus taking the colonies as a whole the wool soles proceed continuously throughout the year. Hides bring from lsd to 4d per lb. Tallow and Fat—Good demand at ljd to l|d for clean rough fat. Sheepskins—There were large catalogues presented to buyers this week, but agsin a proportion of the skins was damaged and out of condition. All sound lots were eagerly competed for. Best crossbreds made 3s 9d to ss, medium 2s 9d to 3s 6d ; beat merinos 2s lOd to 3s 6d, medium Is 8d to 2s 6d ; lambs Is 9d to 3s 6d. Dry skins made 4£d to 5d per lb according to description. Wheat—There is practically no alteration in this market during the week. The statistical position in the large centres is unchanged, and holders are still uncertain whether to take current prices, or risk shipping at weak markets on their own account. Locally values are—Tuscan 2s i Bd, Pearl 2s 7d to 2s Bd, Hunter's 2s 7d. f.0.b., sacks extra. Oats—There is a firmer tone in this market, and a good business has been done [ during the week in best descriptions. Current values are—Prime milling Is 10£ d !to Is ll£d, heavy feed Is 9d to Is lOd, long and ordinary Is 7d to Is 8d per bushel, I f.0.b., sacks extra. I Barley—Prime maltinp none offering, medium 3s 3d to 3s 9d, thin and feed qualities 2s to 2s 6d per bushel delivered, sacks extra. Beana—2s 8d to 2s lOd per bushel, f.0.b., sacks extra. Peas—Prussian blues 2s 9d to 3s Id per bushel, f.0.b., sacks extra. Grass Seed—Farmers' parcels of rye grass (old pasture) 3s to 3s 3d, machine-dressed 3s 9d to 4s per bushel, sacks extra. Cocksfoot (undressed) 2d to 2|d per lb, machinedressed 3£d to 3|d per lb delivered, sacks extra. Clover Seed—Owing to the recent rains a considerable quantity of this seed has been badly damaged, aud in consequence prices are firmer. We quote present values 6d to 6|d per lb delivered. i Potatoes—Blue Derwents are quoted this week at 30s to 32s 6d per ton at country stations. Dairy Produce—Butter (in kegs) 7d to j 8d per lb, cheese 3Jid to 4£d per lb.
