Balfour from the country. OBITUARY. The death is announced of Lord William Paulet. [Lord William Paulefc, G.C.8., uncle of the Marquess of Winchester, was born in 1804, and was educated at Eton. He entered the Army in 1821, became Lieutenant - Colonel 1843, Colonel 1854, itfajor "General 185S, Lioutenant-General 1867, General 1874, and Field Marshal 1886. He served in the Crimean Campaign 1854-6, gaining the medal with four clasps and other honours, was Adju-tant-General of the Forces 1865-70, and a Commissioner of Sandhurst College and the Military Asylum, Chelsea.
