ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

MASTERTON, May 31. A fatal accident happened at Mang&taJ. coko, near Pahiatua, this moiaing. It appears that the Rev. J. Farrow was crossing the bridge on horseback, whoa the horae kicked at a eettler named Alexander striking him in the, chest. Ho was picked up and taken iuto his residence close by, where he died. He leaves a wife and larp family.
DUNEDIN, May 31. Mr Downes, Postmaster at Port Chalmers has died of diphtheria.
