SALE OF A NEWSPAPER.

WELLINGTON, February 12.
The promoters of the new newspaper have been negotiating with Captain Baldwin for the purchase of the *' New Zealand Times," and the sale was concluded this evening, the price being £4500, exclusive of book debts. Captain Baldwin is retiring from the newspaper business on account or ill-health. About £7000 has been subscribed so far, of which Sir \V. Buller provides £2000 and a gentleman in Dunedin £1000. No difficulty is anticipated by the promoters in obtaining all the capital needful.
