TO THE EDITOR OF THE PBESS. ■ Sua, —As a humble citizen of Christchurch) who takes a great interest in all that appor. tains to its welfare. I am sorry to notice tha unedifying squabble which is going ca among several medical men with regard tc Dr. Koch's treatment of consumption. Surely, Sir, the matter is a purely Bcientifia one, and should be treated like all scientific questions, with strict impartiality. I was all tho more surprised to see thst the Medical Society of Christchurch has (to use the expresssionof one of its members) condemned the new treatment with tha whole weight of its authority, without having made or witnessed a single expori* ment with the lymph. Whatever the par* ticular " weight of this authority " may he, I am not astonished to learn on inquiry that the names of several prominent medical men are absent from this Society. I, for one, applaud those doctors who nave had th« courage to investigate for themselves as the value or otherwise of Dr. Koch's trento ment. —I am, &c.,
