INVERCARGILL, May 19. j The Acclimatisation Society has received a report from Professor Hutton, of Christchurch, regarding the fish taken in the Aparima river, and believed to be the true salmon. Unfortunately the scales had been rubbed off in transit but after considering all the other points the professor concludes that they are true salmon, though he ex- | presses regret that he could not count the scales properly. Further specimens are to be caught and forwarded, to finally settle the question.
