CANTERBURY COLLEGE.
A special meeting of the Board of Governors was held at 3 am. Present—-Mr F. De C. Malet (Chairman), Hons. J. T. Peacock and E. C. J. Stevens, Captain Garsia, Messrs L. Cohen, Spackman, W. Chrystall, P.. Beetham, W. C. Walker, T. W. Maude, R. W. Fereday, J. V. Ross, R. Westenra, L. Harper. W. Montgomery, P. D. S. Neave, John Grigg, and H. BWebb.
Mr Spackman, pursuant to notice, moved —" That the Museum Committee bring up a report at the next meeting on the working and management of the Museum." Mr Webb suggested that it would be better to take the discussion of the motion in Committee.
Mr Spaceman had no objection to the course suggested if the majority of the Board agreed, but should vote against it. Mr ChrvstaU- moved—" That the Board go into Committee." Mr Grigg seconded the motion, which was carried on the voices.
The Board went into Committee, and in Committee the motion was lost on division by 11 to 7.
The Board resumed, and the Chairman reported that the report of the Committee of the School of Agriculture on the appointment of a Board of Advice had been cobsidered* certain clauses had been adoptejL with a few verbal alterations, and three br four postponed for further consideration. It was also reported that the Estates Committee's report, as submitted, had been agreed to. Tha Board then adjourned.
