RANGIORA RIFLE VOLUNTEERS.

The annual meetins of the Rangiora Rifle Volunteers was held at the Drill Hall, Victoria street, on Friday evening. There was a large attendance, Captaiu J. Fulton presidium ; Lieutenants fielinore and Toriesse were present. The Chairman reviewed the progress of the company, and alluded to the fact that it had now a well-appointed hall for drill purposes. A band had been formed, and regarding their drill and shooting the memoers had acquitted themselves well in camp and on parade, as well as keeping up the reputation of marksmen and in winning Che volley firiug prize. The Treasurer read a statement of accounts, which showed receipts £131 13s Us, including capitation (1880) £77; expenditure, £124 1»9 sd, including rent, ammunition, &c. The assets were, including capitation 18U0, £2J6 0s tid.; liabilities, about £100. On the motion of Lieutenant C. E. Torlesse, seconded by Color - Sergeaut Tyler, the statement of accounts was adopted and passed. The Drill Hall balance-sheet showed amount advanced £460; subscriptions, 442 14s; rents, *25 5s ; proceeds of bazaar. £159 13s 2d; total, £tfcs7 14s 2d. Expenditure—To coutractor, £554 3a ; land, £100 ; conveyance, interest, rates, &c, i>43 lOd. Tue assets were estimated at -ttfOd us; liabilities, £470 7s Bd. Ou the motion ot Corporal Gulliver, the balance-sheet was adopted. Captain Fultou,referritjg in complimentary terms to the work of the Hon. Secretary aud Treasurer, proposed a hearty vote of thanks which, on being seconded by ColorSergeant Tyler was carried by acclamation. The following Committees were elected :— Finance Committee, Color-Sergeaut Taylor, Sergeant C Jones, Serjeants i≤. D'Auvergne, C. D. Auderaou, B, D'Auverifue, Corporal Jones, Private C, Leech; Firing .Committee, Lituteuant Tories-e, Color-Sergeant Taylor and Sergeant E. D'Auvergue. It was decided to make application to all demoer* who failed tv earn capitation for a refund of the same to the corps. Afier some diecussiuu it was agreed to dispense with the annual subscription. Mr C. J. Jenmugs was elected Auditor, and a hearty vote of suankd was passed to that gentleman for examiuiug the accounts. A unanimous vote of thanks was passed to the Company's Color-Sergeant for. his energy iv behalf of the corps and a vote ol thanks to .the Commanding Officer aa Chairman terminated the meeting.
